The Wild Ones lost to Athena's Avengers in a surprising upset that shows a changing of the guard. The Wood Elves can no longer be considered the dominant Blood Bowl race of the NWL. The Wood Elves laughed off the loss in what has become their normal fashion. The Avenger's had one Handicap roll resulting in It Wasn't Me landing Tympyre Leafeater (a Lineelf) in jail for the day. The Wild Ones started off the game with their usual brutality by knocking down Arachne (a Star Blitzer) and then Dirty Tricking her giving her a Fractured Leg, an injury that Niggles. The fans were eager for more blood and rushed the field in two Pitch Invasions stunning a total of three Elves and five Amazons.

Wild Ones Notes

The Wild Ones had two star player gains with Flaming Branchflicker (a Catcher) gaining +1 MA and Bionia Oakarm (a Thrower) gaining Tackle. Bionia Oakarm retired at the end of the match.

Athena's Avengers Notes

Athena's Avengers had three star player gains. Marsha Shaw (a Thrower) gained Block. Rebecca Winters (a Linewoman) gained Tackle and Aphrodite (a Blitzer) gained Pro. Aphrodite decided to retire due to loss of Strength. Karen Hamilton (a Linewoman) is also retiring but she stated previous injuries as her reason.

The Arabica Knights defeated the Skaven Skrewballz in a surprisingly low scoring game considering what the experts had predicted. It was clear that someone made significant sacrifices to Nuffle and called upon the Eyes of the Snake. Both teams were affected by the curse. NWL officials are looking into who might have best benefited from the downfall of both teams, but at the time of publication there were no suspects. The Knights managed to Palm the Coin at the beginning of the game and chose to receive the ball first. Squire Bean (a Lineelf) was Badly Hurt while Going For It and was dearly missed for the rest of the game. Rip Rulebreaker (a Linerat) was also Badly Hurt and Master Howie (a Lion Warrior) had his ribs broken by Spewer Gatorbait (a Linerat) and is expected to miss the next game. Both teams are looking forward to their next match.

Arabica Knights Notes

The Arabica Knights had two star player gains with Rorr Aster (a Lion Warrior) gaining Block and Duke Sanani (a Dragon Warrior) gaining +1 MA. The team hired a new Lineelf, Magus Clover.

Skaven Skrewballz Notes

The Skaven Skrewballz had one star player gain with Shifty Garbageater (a Gutter Runner) gaining Dirty Rat. The team hired a new Gutter Runner, Slurp Frogspit.

The woes continued for the Rage D'Homme as the Harbingers of Doom used a steady running game to achieve their victory. The Rage had two Handicap results, the first being Virus, but luckily for the Doom none of their players have any Niggling Injuries. The second was I Am The Greatest meaning that Dick 'Butterfingers' Buttkick (a Blitzer) and Eugene Rothstein (a Lineman) would not take the field at the same time. The majority of the game was spent going from one scrum to another with both sides trying to figure out how to either get their hands on the ball or figuring out how to keep and protect it from the other team.

The Harbingers of Doom had no star player gains. The team decided to dump a Re-Roll.

Rage D'Homme Notes

The Tombstone Terrors defeated the Blood River Savages in a one sided contest. The Savages managed to complete several passes and also had an interception but most of the action was by the Terrors. In the second half the Terrors got a Blitz on a kick-off and ran down the field to get the ball and score in just one game turn. The Ref had his eyes on the Savages and kicked both Nee Kappa and Red Nek (Lineorcs) off the pitch for Dirty Tricking. Grabba Ballz (a Blitzer) took Illegal Drugs before the match and got +1 ST. The Terrors had Bad Press cutting their Fan Factor in half for this match.

The Tombstone Terrors had three star player gains with Foul Nosecurler (a Wight) getting Strip Ball, Nawin Nell (a Ghoul) getting Sure Hands, and Krudding Kramer (a Zombie) getting Block.

Blood River Savages Notes

The Blood River Savages had two star player gains with Krak Skul (a Black Orc Blocker) getting Guard and Chuka Ballgod (a Thrower) gaining Block. The team hired Wulf Shaggah as a Blitzer.

It was a beautiful day for Blood Bowl but the infighting amongst the Backwata Bashas made it difficult for them to stop the organized ground attack of the Chaos Crushers. Due to the Handicap roll of I am the Greatest both Slimy (Orc Thrower) and Hairy (Orc Blitzer) refused to set foot on the pitch at the same time. This caused problems with some of the Orc players because while Slimy spent the game on the bench there were several kick-offs with only nine Bashas on the field. There was also one report that Orcs were lollygagging in the KOed box.

The Backwata Bashas had one star player gain with Sloppy (Blitzer) gaining Strip Ball. There were no hiring or firings.

Chaos Crushers Notes

The Chaos Crushers had two star player gains with Rabar One Eye (Beastman) gaining Mighty Blow and Wally the Killing Stench (Beastman) gaining Strip Ball.

The Darktower Slayers defeated the Deathrow Posse in a grinding battle. The Slayers Bribed the Ref and also created a smear campaign giving the Posse Bad Press, cutting their Fan Factor in half for this game. On the first kick-off one of the crowd Threw a Rock and killed Zhag Da Bolta (Orc Thrower) who the team Apothecary failed to save. Pouring Rain made things difficult for both teams when trying to handle the ball. Kalreg Da Knocka (Black Orc Blocker) was also killed late in the second half by Mr. Black (Human Lineman) as both teams fought to prevent overtime. The Pouring Rain gave way to Very Sunny. Late in overtime Narg Rockbreaka (Orc Blitzer) earned his game MVP with his second Casualty of the game and the game-winning Touchdown for the Slayers.

Darktower Slayers Notes

The Darktower Slayers had one star player gain with Narg Rockbreaka (Orc Blitzer) gaining Tackle. The team hired Talgor da Killa (Black Orc Blocker) to replace Kalreg Da Knocker.

Deathrow Posse Notes

The Deathrow Posse had two star player gains with Voodoo (Catcher) and Mr. Black (Lineman) both gaining Block. Scary Mary (Catcher) is expected to miss the next game.
