The Blood Is Back In Blood Bowl!
Round 1 Heat 3 was a wonderful mix of the two previous heats. With 6 total deaths in the heat, 3 by the now to be feared Skaven Skrewballz with their killer Crusher Bloodclot, as well as a new record win (6-0!) by those pesky Wild Ones (you love them, you hate them!), the heat showed us both ends of the beautiful Blood Bowl spectrum. The conferences are starting to shape up a little, with an undefeated team in each, as well as 3 winless (yes that's a combined 0-9) teams, coaches have their work cut out for them. Can anyone knock the Harbingers or Posse from the top of the heap? Will the Savages, Avengers and especially the Skrewballz be able to CLAW their way out of the basement? The Deathrow Posse defeated the Tombstone Terrors in a stunning shutout. The Posse suffered from Doom and Gloom cutting their re rolls in half for the first half. The Posse received first, but the kickoff was delayed by injury time. The Posse's offence was firing on all cylinders and they scored right away. The Posse opened the second half with Perfect Defense and after getting to the ball and scoring quickly they then got a Blitz putting the Terrors back on their heels. The Terrors had trouble getting going and couldn't string together a play without something going wrong. The Terrors got an extra kick to the groin at the very end of the game when Clawing Heartstopper (a Wight) was killed and failed to regenerate.

The Pizza Paisanos made the Darktower Slayers pay for their victory with blood. Gresag Ballbreaka (a Lineorc) was arrested before the match, he claims It Wasn't Me. That Boy's Got Talent, Gee Hop joined the Paisanos as a Blitzer for this game. Meatball Marabelli (a Lineman) was Inspired and picked up Dirty Player before the game. Narg Rockbreaka (an Orc Blitzer) and Gurzag Whiparm (an Orc Thrower) both claimed I Am The Greatest and would not step onto the pitch at the same time. The Paisanos received first but could not capitalize with a touchdown. The Slayers were up by two touchdowns and seemed to have the game in hand late in the second half when the Paisanos knocked Zilag Headsmasha (an Orc Blitzer) into the crowd where he was mercilessly torn to little pieces.

The Tanglewood Titans outscored the Skaven Skrewballz on the way to a costly victory. The snow was coming down fast and furious for the first half but suddenly stopped in time for them to clear the field for the second half. Crusher Bloodclot (a Storm Vermin) was Boneheaded for this game and the Titans had some Smelling Salts. The deaths came in pairs for the Titans. The first pair happened at the end of the first half, and the Apothecary could only save one, leaving Serg Oakwood (a Dragon Warrior) dead. The other pair came part way through the second half. The Titans took advantage of the Skrewballz early ball trouble and quickly had a two touchdown lead. Try as they might the Titans could not hurt the Skrewballz, even the dirty tricks they did resulted in only stuns. The Elves on the other hand were hauled off of the field left and right during the second half. Despite having the numbers advantage by the end the Skrewballz could not catch up to the elves early lead.

The teams were evenly matched to start but the Rage quickly took advantage by pushing two Avengers off the pitch where the crowd badly hurt both players and then seriously injuring another forcing them off the field. The Avengers received to begin the game and the Rage countered with a Perfect Defense. Everything the Avengers tried the Rage had an answer to shutting them out for the entire game but unable to score themselves until overtime.

Blood Axe (a Black Orc Blocker) took illegal drugs giving him +1 ST for this match only. The Wild Ones received to start and proceeded to score touchdowns fast and furiously. The Wild Ones new Treeman, Harvey at times seemed unsure about his roll on the pitch and when in doubt took root, five times. The fans rushed the field to start the second half stunning seven orcs and no elves. Nee Kappa (a Lineorc) was killed after being pushed into the crowd by Nutt Ironbranch (a Wardancer).

Eugene Rothstein (a Human Lineman) was arrested before the match and did not make it to the game in time to play. The Knights moved the ball well but at a key moment a pass was missed allowing the Doom to capitalize. Bruiser Armstrong (a Ogre) was Boneheaded at least four turns this game.
